Import history, and undo

You've just run a leave import. Dozens of records, straight in. Job done, coffee earned.

And then you spot it. Wrong year. Wrong column. Wrong something.

Every one of those records is now sitting in your calendar, quietly eating into people's allowances. And until today, there was exactly one way out: open one, cancel it, open the next, delete that. Repeat until your afternoon is gone. 😩

Then there's the other half of the problem. The import threw a handful of errors, and the report explaining them went to your inbox. Somewhere. Under the thing from Tuesday.

Every import you run — Employees, Leave, and Allowances — now leaves a permanent trail.

Open the history, and you'll see:

• When the import ran
• Who ran it
• How many records went in
• How many errors came back
• The error report, ready to download — no inbox archaeology required
• The original file you uploaded, in case you want to check it or run it again

Newest at the top. Admin users only. And it doesn't expire — the history stays as long as your company does.

Knowing an import went wrong is useful. Being able to take it back is better.

Leave imports now have an undo button.

Click it, and we'll show you exactly what you're about to remove — how many records, and which employees are affected. Because this one is properly destructive, we'll also ask for your password before anything happens.

Then it's all-or-nothing: every leave record that import created is deleted for good, and everyone's remaining allowance is recalculated on the spot. No half-finished cleanup. No leave hiding in a corner still counting against someone's balance.

The undo shows up in the history as its own entry, so the trail stays honest. And it's a one-way door — an import can be undone once, and an undo can't be undone. Although, to be fair, the file you imported is right there, so you could just import that again to undo the undo. 😌

No more:

• Deleting imported leave one record at a time
• Digging through your inbox for an error report from three weeks ago
• Wondering who ran that import, or when, or what was in it
• Treating "I'll just import it and see" as a career-limiting move
